Description
West side housing was among the first areas to be redeveloped after the war. Designed to fit as many people as possible so they could move onto repairing other buildings, it is full of compact apartments. Even after the East Village was developed and humans moved to more spacious housing, the west remained compact to make room for the factories and other industrial facilities. It is inhabited almost entirely by Barren (with the exception of a few rebellious Humans) so they are close to the factories and barracks. Most apartments are 400-800 sq ft and shared between friends and/or relatives. Food markets are spread across the borough and small rooftop gardens are a common sight (to subsidize food expenses.) Walking and biking are the primary means of transport around the borough with work places nearby. However the government and medical facilities are on the east side of town, along with any human family members, so public carriages are available to travel across town.
